Hello Guest! My name is RaveFlames, better known as 'Admin' upon the site. I am the creator and manager of Bleach Reborn. For those of you who don't know me well, I've been role playing for about 9 years of my life so far. I'm here on Proboards working on a whole new role play that I've never tried before. This little overview board has all the sneak peeks into the site to help you decide if this role play is the site for you. Please, take your time moving through the overview and I'll try to keep it as brief as possible so you're not reading a novel just to get a preview of the site! Enjoy the overview and I hope to see you applying to become a part of this wonderful community! The setting for Bleach Reborn is of course in Soul Society, Japan and Hueco Mundo. All locations are true to the series and I've only added a few other locations here and there but that's it. Everyone's favorite areas are still available.
Before I created BR, I had several other sites under my wing that I was running. But I decided I wanted to start a Bleach role play and get some experience and knowledge about the series. This has, by far, not been my most eventful site, as in I have had more experiences with my other site than any previously. In the past, I've been stolen from. I've had bad interactions with crazed members. I've gotten into a few arguments with members who did not agree with something I've said concerning a character of theirs or whatnot. Despite some of the downfalls, I've had quite a few ups as well. I've meant amazing people here and I don't know what I would do if I ever lost this site. This hasn't been the most active site I've managed, but it surely has been the most worth wile one, making this site something I hope to keep alive for a while.
What is the purpose of this site? Originally, it was to give me someplace to RP Bleach and meet others who liked role playing as well and enjoyed the series. Despite this, this site isn't meant just for me. It's also for other members who is looking for a friendly environment to place their creativity in. This place is for interacting with others and finding other people out there in the big, vast world that share the same interests as we do. We RP to have fun here. Not to start fights. We RP here to create vast and impressive characters with the help of our fellow members by shaping and developing them through RP. The destination is not the part that we often worry about here. What we want is the journey, the story of the character that got them to where they are and it's that story that we try to share with our fellow RPers. That is the purpose of BR. To create a story with other members and make it the best damn thing anyone has ever read.

Missions just so happen to be a new addition to the site at the moment. If you're a trainee and you want to become part of a division, you may be sent out on a mission or two beforehand. If you're on a division and you want a seated position, you must go on a mission before you're assigned a seat. Your Captain will assign you a seat that they feel you deserve, just be sure not to complain if you don't get the seat you want. Missions will vary depending on what the Captain's need done. Espada may send their subordinates on missions as well if they wish to. Missions will continue to develop and promote more fun on the site! ^^ World-wide tournaments will take place later on once we have more members. These tournaments will be organized and carried out when they're needed. Most likely they will result in a free for all battle. We will try to keep you updated with this event.

If you have already read the rules, I'm sure you can see that this is not a site for one liners. To those reading this that are one liners, I'm terribly sorry, but I do NOT like one liners. I feel that a story truly can't come from one or two sentences of information. I want details, length, something to go off of. When a fellow RPer in one of our RPs gives me a lot of details, I find it easier to respond and easier to give a more detailed response as well. The more details in the post, the more I understand just what they are trying to get across in their post, what their character is doing/feeling, the environment around the character, etc. To some, this may not seem important. As a writer and a reader, though, I believe that details are necessary. Because of this, I want length in posts. Believe it or not, 250 words is really not that much. I tend to write more on average, but at least 300 words is what is expected of you. I'm not saying we're hardcore RPers who write novels with each post. I'll admit, I've written posts that are well over 2000 words long in a RP with another. I have a few posts going on where I happen to have quite a few long posts. That is not what I require. What I want is enough to not be considered a one liner. A majority of the members on this site are experienced RPers. That doesn't mean you have to be, but please be able to write at least a paragraph with proper sentence structure and as little errors as possible. Errors happen, trust me, I know, but the fewer the errors, the easier a post is to read. For those of you who totally know where I am coming from, who have RPed for sometime and typically write long posts, I think you'll find this place to be a good place to RP.

Human Most humans cannot see or sense disembodied spirits in any way. Spirits can, however, inhabit artificial human bodies called gigai which are visible to ordinary humans. One in 50,000 humans is a medium with some awareness of nearby spirits, but only a third of these are able to see them clearly, and only the strongest of mediums are able to speak with or touch spirits. Certain unique humans naturally have both the power to sense and the strength to fight with spirits. Ordinary humans can gain the ability to interact with spirits by spending time around a large source of spirit energy.
Quincy The Quincy are a clan of spiritually aware humans who once fought against the hollows, using bows composed of spiritual energy to slay them. As opposed to Shinigami, Quincy absorb and channel energy from their surroundings to fight. Unlike the Shinigami method of killing hollows which allows the hollow to enter Soul Society, the Quincy technique simply destroys the hollow's soul entirely. This method has the propensity to shatter the balance of the universe, because when souls are destroyed, the number of souls entering and leaving Soul Society cannot remain equal. This issue prompted the Shinigami to conduct a campaign to exterminate the Quincy about 200 years before the main storyline. There are only two known Quincys remaining.
Shinigami Shinigami, or Soul Reapers as they are called in the official Viz English releases, also known as Death Gods. They are souls with inner spiritual power, recruited from the ranks of the residents and nobility of Soul Society. Like all spirits, they cannot be detected by normal humans. Shinigami use their zanpakuto, supernatural swords that are the manifestation of their owners' power, to perform soul burials on pluses. Shinigami also use zanpakutô and magic known as kidou to fight their arch rivals, the hollows. A group of Shinigami known as the Vizard have obtained hollow powers, gaining removable masks and access to certain hollow abilities.
Hollows The hollows are the major antagonists of Bleach. They are evil spirits who reside in Hueco Mundo but travel to the living world to feed on the souls of the living and dead alike. Like Shinigami, hollows are made of spiritual matter and cannot be detected by ordinary humans. While the majority of hollows can be overcome by the average Shinigami, there are some which surpass even the most elite Shinigami in strength. All normal hollows wear white masks, but a small group of hollows have broken them, becoming Arrancar. By shattering their masks, these hollows regain the ability to reason, sometimes obtain a humanoid form, and gain access to Shinigami powers.
Arrancar An Arrancar is a hollow that has removed its mask and gained Shinigami powers. The name Arrancar is a Spanish verb meaning "to remove" or "to rip off," a reference to an Arrancar's removal of its hollow mask. Few hollows have the potential to remove their masks normally, and even if they manage it the change is not significant. Sôsuke Aizen is able to artificially create Arrancar with the Orb of Distortion, which also unlocks much more of their potential than a natural transformation would. The process of turning a hollow into an Arrancar is called Ahinigami-fication. Arrancar differ from ordinary hollows in two ways: their hollow holes are often moved, and only a small fragment of their masks remain. When hollows become Arrancar, the chances of them retaining a humanoid form increase with their intelligence; only vasto lorde-class Arrancar will definitely assume a humanoid form. If powerful enough, an Arrancar can seal its excess power into the form of a zanpakutô. This weapon is their original hollow powers, which can be called upon when necessary, as opposed to the living spirit of a Shinigami's zanpakutô. Their zanpakutô also differ in that they need not take the form of a sword: for example, Cirucci Thunderwitch's weapon takes the form of what is essentially a giant yo-yo. When an Arrancar releases their zanpakutô, a process called resurrección, Japanese for "returning blade," Spanish for "resurrection"), part of their original hollow form is restored, giving them access to their original abilities. While Arrancar do not appear to have a second release, the act of releasing their zanpakutô exponentially increases their power, similar to the power boost afforded by a Shinigami's bankai. Those Arrancar under Aizen's command also have a standard theme for their clothing. Their uniforms consist of a white jacket, black sash, white hakama, and black socks with white sandals; in essence, the uniforms are basically inverted Shinigami uniforms.
Vizard The Vizard are the antithesis to the Arrancar, Shinigami who have obtained hollow powers. Having begun as Shinigami, the Vizard appear entirely human, and barring those times where they are using their powers are indistinguishable from ordinary Shinigami. To gain access to their hollow powers, a Vizard dons a hollow mask. This allows them to augment their Shinigami abilities with hollow powers, as well as giving them access to some of the generic hollow abilities. Their spiritual pressure likewise changes into a mix of hollow and Shinigami. This process of donning one's hollow mask is referred to as "Hollowification". It is unclear what the motives of the Vizard are. The members of the Vizard group have been shown to be former high-level Shinigami, almost exclusively drawn from the the captain and lieutenant ranks. They are considered criminals by Soul Society for committing the ultimate taboo of acquiring hollow powers; their status as former leaders of Soul Society also marks them as traitors. The Vizard are also rejected by hollows, due to their former status as Shinigami. It is because of this that it can be presumed that the only side the Vizard are on is their own. Regardless, they seem to be valuable allies-to-be in the battle against Sôsuke Aizen's army of Arrancar, as Kisuke Urahara mentioned. The Vizard have not shown any sort of hierarchy, seeming to prefer a loose-knit organization.
