Beginner Level : Weak / Average / Strong
Abbreviations: SL-W / SL-A / SL-S
Examples: Kurosaki Yuzu, Kurosaki Karin, Don Kanonji, Shinigami in the Academy, etc.
Starting level is the lowest point of power for a character, meaning that at any point of this they are just becoming aware of or developing their powers.
Low Level : Weak / Average / Strong

Competent Level : Weak / Average / Strong
Abbreviations: CL-W / CL-A / CL-S
Examples: Lower seated Shinigami, basic Numeros Arrancar, fully spiritually-aware humans, etc.
With competence comes understanding, and with understanding comes power. Those of competence are starting to grasp at how deep their powers may run, and their overall talent begins to show, allowing them to overturn unfavored circumstances due to sheer talent or natural instinctive feel of things. While their powers are far from great, those of the Competent Level are certainly on the path towards obtaining power further down the road.
Average Level : Weak / Average / Strong
Abbreviations: AL-W / AL-A / AL-S
Examples: Privaron, High-Seated Officers, Vice-captains, Vizards without Bankai, Espada 8-9, Quincy
This is the most common level of power that will be seen. Mighty Level : Weak / Average / Strong
Abbreviations: ML-W / ML-A / ML-S
Examples: Espada 4-7, Gotei 13 Captains, Vizards with Bankai, Strong Quincy
Commonly considered Captain level, it is here that one will find a high population of well-powered Bankai and Resurreccions wielded by vicious warriors more than willing to kill those who stand in their way. Examples: Espada 0-3, Shunsui, Ukitake, Byakuya Kuchiki, Vasto Lorde, Quincy Masters
Exalted level, the point at which the powers of a single character are rivaling that of the greatest warriors of history. Their reishi is controlled and designed to its specific task, their reiatsu capable of utterly crushing the life out of lesser beings. Only the strongest and most elite of warriors and commanders fall within the divinity of Exalted Level, the sheer powers offered by such a peak well beyond the ken of most mortal men.
God Level : Weak / Average / Strong
Abbreviations: GL-W / GL-A / GL-S
Examples: Aizen Sosuke, Yamamoto Genryusai, Captain Commander, Hollow King
This level of power is unimaginably rare and seen only once or twice a millennium. God Level characters are the sheer epitome of power, the definition of destructive capabilities, and the image of ultimate strength for all to witness. This power rivals all before it, including the fabled Yamamoto Genryusai and infamous Aizen Sosuke.
Mastery Levels
Beginner: Let's face it, you don't know what the hell you're doing, it's a wonder you can even pull off the basics.
Practitioner: So, you're not good, but you're not bad at what you do. In fact, you're on the low end of average, still, at least you know how to aim your bloody cero!
Intermediate: Well look at that! You can do it without hurting yourself or taking a million years! Looks like you've gotten the hang of it... Good job!
Adept: HEY! You're getting kinda good at this, but not good enough to be in one of the top five, maybe the top twenty. You're like the bronze medalist at the Olympics, you're good, but you ain't perfect. Still, you might just pull off a stunt or two to impress the ladies (and maybe men)
Advanced: Nice! Look at you! You know what you're doin there, bud! Of course you may make a mistake here and there, but who really notices them, I mean, you've gotten pretty good at hiding any mistakes!
Expert: Oh yeah! You're an expert now! Looks like you know exactly what you're doing. You'll rarely find anyone better in your field or at what you do, just remember, there's still folks better than you. But hey, you'll probably never meet 'em right? You're no wierd hermit sage with mystic powers, but you sure as hell know how you handle yourself with most epic composure.
Master: Remember when we said you'd probably never meet anybody better than you? Well, you just did. Masters are the best at what they do at their power level. They can do and think of things in their chosen field that few beings could ever comprehend. Want that cero turned into a super-whip cero? Well, give a master a little bit of time to train and develop and I guarantee he'll figure it out.
Sensei: My... god... Never thought you'd make it this far, did you? That's because you CAN'T think somebody could be this good at something! Good DAMN job, dude! You are somethin, aren't you?
Shinigami Masteries
HOHŌ: Hohō is an important skill for most Shinigami, and is very similar to the Sonído used by Arrancar. Though never stated clearly it most likely relates to the Shinigami ability to walk on air using spiritual power. By collecting and solidifying Reishi beneath their feet, Shinigami can gain traction on thin air to either freely move about or to stop themselves from falling. Shunpo falls under this and is a movement technique that allows the user to move faster than the eye can follow. At Practitioner level, someone can use Shunpo.
ZANJUTSU: Zanjutsu (swordsmanship) is the most used form of combat among Shinigami, since their Zanpakutō is the most effective way of dispatching any given opponent. As the name suggests, it involves using a Zanpakutō and its various special abilities to attack an opponent. In addition to its basic form, each Zanpakutō has two enhanced forms: Shikai ("initial release") and Bankai ("final release"), which change the sword's form to unlock its potential and that of its user.
KIDŌ: Kidō are a type of sorcery used by Shinigami. They can be used for various purposes, such as healing, attacking, and restraining. Healing seems to be a more general skill, while attacking and binding require an incantation to be recited beforehand. Demon arts spells are divided into two major groups: destructive spells, used for direct attack, and binding spells, which are spells that restrain someone or have other effects. These forms of demon arts spells are performed by calling out a complicated and often long-winded incantation followed by the name of the spell, which causes an effect once the name has been recited. Lesser versions of the spells can be used by calling out the name alone, but their effectiveness is reduced when used in such a fashion. A complete mastery would be having knowledge of all Bakudō and Hadō spells.
HAKUDA: Hand-to-hand combat is not elaborated upon by the majority of Shinigami. The Onmitsukidō troops, however, especially those of higher ranks such as Soifon, are known to be well-trained in this field. Physical strength and skill is determined by this class. It seems to be a combination of several martial arts.
REIATSU: Reiatsu is the physical force/pressure that a person’s Reiryoku creates when released. A true master of Reiatsu can control the fluctuations with ease and easily compress, expand, and form it into attacks/techniques.
Arrancar Masteries
REIATSU. Reiatsu is the physical force/pressure that a person’s Reiryoku creates when released. A true master of Reiatsu can control the fluctuations with ease and easily compress, expand, and form it into attacks/techniques.
SONIDO. Sonido is the Arrancar equivalent of the Shinigami Flash Steps and the Quincy Hirenkyaku; it allows the user to travel at incredibly high speeds for short distances. Use of Sonído is punctuated by a brief static sound, in contrast to the "swish" sound caused by Flash Steps.
CERO/BALA. Cero are high-powered energy blasts that can be fired from various body parts, such as mouth, tongue, hand or fingers. Only Gillians, Adjuchas, Arrancar, and the Vizard have so far been shown to use Cero attacks, and it appears that stronger entities can use it more efficiently. Various Arrancar and Hollow characters display variants of the technique, such as the Espada-exclusive Gran Rey Cero, the Cero Oscuras that Ulquiorra Cifer can use only in his released form, as well as the Cero Sincrético performed by Pesche Guatiche and Dondochakka Bilstin. A master of Cero would have his or her own variants as well as perfect construction and power behind each Cero.
HAND-TO-HAND. Hand-to-hand combat of used by most melee fighters. Hand-to-hand combat involves only the user's fists and their body to help propel themselves in a fight. As someone grows in hand-to-hand, they have much experience using it in real fights as well as training. Hand-to-hand involves form, brute strength, and maneuverability. Mastering this are means having perfection of the three aforementioned componenets.
RESURRECCION. What? You thought all arrancar were masters of their resurreccion right off the bat? Hardly. You've gotta work to get that piece mastered to the point of knowing every single technique possible. And guess what? You know that Segunda Etapa? Yeah, well, you've gotta be a MASTER in Resurreccion to even try to get it, and to be master, you'll have to have maxed out all of your possible techniques and special abilities in res to accomplish that.
Human Masteries
REIATSU. Reiatsu is the physical force/pressure that a person’s Reiryoku creates when released. A true master of Reiatsu can control the fluctuations with ease and easily compress, expand, and form it into attacks/techniques.
SPEED. While humans and Modified Souls cannot use Flash Steps or of the like, they can reach inhuman speeds via training. Generally, their leg strength would have to be phenomenal in order to power them to speeds above normal human capabilities. Generally, there aren't many ways to customize speed for humans and Mod Souls, however they can design simple techniques with it.
STAMINA. Stamina is the energy and strength for continuing to do something over a long period of time. Where most humans and Modified Souls would get tired from extended physical activities, a person who trains in things like muscular and cardiovascular strength can stay energized longer than usual. A master can control their breathing, conserve energy with as little effort as possible, and be able to stay active for tremendous amounts of time in comparison to average humans.
HUMAN ABILITY. Yep, ya gotta master this too. Know that nifty ascendence bit you can get? Yeah, ya gotta be a master in this to even try for mastering that little part of your buffed up human.
Quincy Masteries
REIRYOKU ABSORPTION/RASOTNGAI. A Quincy primarily absorbs spiritual energy from the atmosphere, and combines it with his own spiritual energy to form weapons.
ACCURACY. A Quincy's main skill is archery. Form, arrow strength, and aiming skills all play a part. Mastering archery is harder than it sounds, as it takes much concentration, steadiness, and physical strength to perfect each arrow and release it at its fullest potential.
HIRENKYAKU. Hirenkyaku is a method in which Quincy use to travel quickly over short distances. It is basically the Quincy equivalent to the Shinigami's Shunpo, or the Arrancar's Sonído.
GINTO/SEELE SCHNEIDER. There are many diverse Quincy techniques that utilize the Silver Tubes, Seele Schneider, or just plain reishi absorption. Practicing and learning these techniques help one acquire a better mastery of them in general. A master would know most, if not all of the techniques.
